PTZ cameras are meant to be outside in the weather. The Night Ranger PTZ Laser or Infrared is sealed to an IP67 rating (tested by water tank immersion) which means weatherproof, waterproof, dust proof, and high humidity tolerance, and has a lightning and surge protection built-in up to 4000 volts.
The Night Ranger has a built-in Constant Temperature System with a Heater and Cooling fans that allow it to work in extremely cold and also extremely hot environments (-40 degree to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). Rain and snow are no match for the built-in wiper that keeps the glass camera shield free from moisture and contaminants with a full 180-degree travel.
With 36X optical zoom (4.3mm to 122.4mm lens) with speed proportional to zoom and 12X digital zoom automatically kicks in when the optical lens is at max zoom (can turn this on or off via the menu). The 360 degrees constant rotation pan at high speeds / 105 degrees upwards tilt to see higher than most PTZ camera are able. How about 128 preset positions with four pattern tours and four scan tours (each tour can have as many as 24 presets) then back to the park position ( home position).
The Night Ranger has seven alarm inputs and two alarm outputs, for example, hook up motion detectors, and the PTZ will turn where is motion is.
